Emma has worked in financial services for over 25 years starting at the Woolwich Building Society in 1993 as a general insurance adviser. She’s been a financial adviser since 2001, mainly with the Lloyds Banking Group, and her specialism is both ‘at- retirement’ and ‘pre-retirement’ planning.

Emma has worked for a couple of other Banks and both small and large life companies, most recently working for the Aviva group. She took up her position with P W White and Partners in February 2021.

Emma holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and is also a Financial Education Champion for the Personal Finance Society (PFS) which involves visiting local schools to help educate older students about how to best organise their finances.

Outside of work Emma enjoys spending time with family, school fundraising, swimming, and skiing (when she is allowed) and has been known to ski in the UK on the rare occasions there has been enough snow.

Her 15 minutes of fame happened during the first lockdown (2020) when she was interviewed by the BBC for an article on claiming the working from home income tax allowance and encouraging people to do so. She explained that she is always keen on saving people tax wherever possible so considered promoting this to be a natural extension of her role as a financial planner.
